Bainbridge Island Rowers are standing by, strong arms at the ready, to wrap your gifts. The goal of this wrapping fundraiser is to send rowers to Nationals in Sarasota, Florida, in the spring. Rower Sophie Townsend explained that the boats have to be driven all the way to Florida.
Got gifts? Drop by until 6 p.m. today, Sunday, December 21, at the Pleasant Beach Marketplace in Lynwood Center and have the rowers wrap them for you. Enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine at the Marketplace while, as Townsend put it, “Bainbridge Island rowers set down their oars and pick up some ribbon and tape to wrap your presents.”
The featured photo shows Councilmember Roger Townsend with his daughter Sophie (BHS class 2017) ready to wrap. The strange man in the background has nothing to do with the wrapping.
